Tube Mill Operator

Purpose

The primary function is to set up, operate, and maintain tube mill equipment for the production of steel tubing.

Reports to:

Plant Manager

Required skills:

• Knowledgeable in the operation of a tube mill equipment
• Attention to detail
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to read calipers, micrometers and interpret blue prints
• Basic computer skills, able to use company’s production system
• Knowledge of mathematics as it applies to the job
• General knowledge of safety practices
• Ability to work on numerous tasks simultaneously
• Punctual and reliable
• Honest and trustworthy
• Good communication skills

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Bring proper tools to job daily (tape measure, steel toe boots, safety glasses)
• Set up and operate tube mill machinery to produce steel tubes to specified dimensions
• Monitor production process to ensure product quality and consistency
• Perform regular checks on equipment and make adjustments as needed
• Inspect work pieces for conformance to specifications
• Meet quality expectations
• Complete any required paperwork
• Attend any necessary training sessions (safety, etc.)
• Comply with company safety rules and procedures
• Inspect work for quality
• Maintain a clean work area

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years related work experience (required)
• Steel / aluminum industry fabrication experience (preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 6 am – 2:30 pm
