Client Advocate

The Shelter Inc. is currently seeking a dedicated Client/Victim Advocate to join our team. As a non-profit organization serving domestic violence victims and their families, this hands-on role involves providing individualized support to adults and children in need. The primary focus of this position is to connect clients with necessary resources to assist them in their journey towards a better future. Responsibilities of the Client/Victim Advocate include: - Enrolling clients in available resources and assisting with paperwork - Providing transportation for clients and their children - Assisting clients with budgeting and job search - Helping clients navigate legal processes and fill out paperwork - Enrolling children in school and collaborating with school personnel for additional support - Supporting clients who speak different languages - Organizing and maintaining cleanliness as clients transition in and out of shelter services - Providing court advocacy and child protective services advocacy - Connecting clients with immediate resources and services - Being available for on-call duties and maintaining a flexible work schedule - Engaging in community events and working closely with volunteers - Assisting with physical tasks, such as lifting, during client relocations - Utilizing software and computer skills to track and report statistical data - Demonstrating problem-solving abilities and making crisis decisions when necessary - Collaborating effectively with a small team and independently as needed -
